18mm Egger U201 ST9 Pebble Grey Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Grey Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.
Colour and surface
Pebble Grey is one of Egger’s on-trend taupe tones, a colour that shifts depending on what sits around it. Against cool shades of grey, it reads warm, while beside beige and brown tones, it reads more grey. Sitting at this middle intensity of colour is what helps it pair so readily with a broad mix of woodgrain and material decors. ST9 Smoothtouch Matt lends the surface a clean, contemporary matt appearance, free of any shine. Tested to EN 14323, the surface scores 3 or higher for stain resistance, so everyday marks and spills clean off without damaging the finish.
Construction and performance
The chipboard core is faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, finished with a square cut edge ready for banding. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. The panel can be cut, drilled and machined using suitable woodworking equipment, with exposed edges finished using matching U201 ST9 ABS edging. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.
