WHAT SORT OF VEHICLE WILL MY ORDER BE DELIVERED ON?
In the delivery zone 1, 2 and 3, we operate a fleet of heavy goods vehicles and vans, therefore road access and weight limits need to be considered. Unless we are advised of access restrictions, we will send any sized vehicle available to us, including articulated lorries.
Please let us know at the time of order about restricted access by entering the relevant information in the ‘Special Instructions’ box provided. We consider restricted access to be if our drivers encounter double yellow lines, a red route, narrow lanes, steep hills, low bridges, or width restricted roads.
In the delivery zone 4, haulage firms that we work with operate only a fleet of 26-tonne lorries and articulated lorries, therefore deliveries to sites with width-restricted access and narrow lanes will not be possible.
If we are unable to make a delivery because access is not possible, we reserve the right to make a failed delivery charge.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY ORDER TO BE DELIVERED?
We aim to complete our orders within 5 workings days from the date of the order unless the customer requests a day outside that window. Once the order has been placed, contact by phone will be made within 24 hours of the order being processed on our system by the delivery coordinator to book a delivery date with the customer. Delivery times will not be given, only AM or PM slot will be advised. This will then be confirmed by whichever transport service is used to complete your delivery. Bank holidays and weekends will affect your delivery lead time as our service runs on working days only. This will always be reflected in your estimated delivery date.
All delivery times stated are approximate and are subject to availability. Usually, our deliveries are completed between 7 am – 5 pm.
We advise that customers wait for their goods to be delivered before arranging work to be undertaken. Sheet Materials Wholesale may not be held liable for any failure to deliver by any stated time or date or any consequential loss resulting from late delivery.
WHAT DO I NEED TO CONSIDER WHEN ACCEPTING MY DELIVERY?
Our delivery service is to kerbside only throughout the UK. This means that the driver will park as close to your delivery location as possible, and then you will be responsible to unload your goods from the vehicle. Forklift or adequate manual labour is required to unload the order. If in the delivery zone 1, 2 and 3, truck-mounted forklift delivery will be offered for deliveries exceeding 1 pack or 1-tonne orders (depending on the access) at no extra cost.
Within delivery zone 4, the customer must have the ability or willingness to manually offload the goods or having mechanical offloading facilities available (such as a forklift truck).
Any shortages in quantity or missing items must be written on the drivers delivery notes and reported to Building Materials Wholesale within 24 hours of delivery. No claims for shortages or missing items will be accepted if driver’s delivery notes are not signed for as short.
Do not accept damaged products. Instead, any damages must by clearly written on the driver’s delivery notes and the damages must be reported to Building Materials Wholesale. If possible, take a picture of the damaged boards and refuse delivery of the damaged products. No claims for damages will be accepted if delivery notes are not signed for as damaged.
As soon as the order has been delivered to your requested delivery address, the risk of any damage or loss passes to you.
CUT OFF TIME AND WORKING DAYS EXPLAINED:
Deliveries are made on working days only. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are classed as working days with the exception of bank holidays. All orders placed on Saturday and Sunday will be processed on Monday. Our order processing cut off time is 12 pm. If the order is placed on Monday at 2 pm for 5 working days delivery, the order most likely will arrive on Monday the following week.

The delivery area that we can deliver to is divided into four zones.
Zone 1, the delivery area highlighted in “YELLOW” colour on the map below contains the following postcodes: BR, CM, CO, CR, DA, E, EN, EC, HA, IG, KT, ME, N, NW, RM, SE, SM, SS, SW, TW, UB, W, WD, WC.
Zone 2, the delivery area highlighted in “BLUE” colour on the map below contains the following postcodes: AL, CB, CT, GU, HP, IP, LU, MK, RH, SG, SL, TN.
Zone 3, the delivery area highlighted in “BROWN” colour on the map below contains the following postcodes: B, BH, BN, CV, DE, DY, LE, NG, NN, NR, OX, PE, PO, RG, SO.
Zone 4, the delivery area highlighted in “GRAY” colour on the map below contains the following postcodes: BA, BB, BD, BL, BS, CA, CF, CH, CW, DH, DL, DN, DT, EX, GL, HD, HG, HR, HU, HX, L, LA, LD, LL, LN, LS, M, ML, NE, NP, OL, PL, PR, S, SA, SK, SN, SP, SR, ST, SY, TA, TF, TQ, TS, WA, WF, WN, WR, WS, WV, YO.
Unlike, Zone 1, 2, and 3, within Zone 4 we deliver products to our customers by using various haulage companies that deliver on our behalf. Because of that, prior to accepting your order, we need to confirm the transport cost with haulage firm based on your order size and weight. If your order needs to be delivered within Zone 4, please add all the required products into the cart, proceed to check-out and then email us your cart to firstname.lastname@example.org. In order to do that, please click on the “save and share cart” button at the bottom of the check-out and complete your contact details. The sales team will come back to you within 24 hours with the total cost of your order and estimated delivery date.
