    18mm Egger F424 ST10 Brown Linen Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Brown Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and surface
    Brown Linen reproduces the fine look of woven fabric in a warm, terra brown tone. ST10 Deepskin Rough feels coarse and fabric-like to the touch, pressed into the surface rather than printed on. Tested to EN 14323, the surface holds a stain resistance rating of 3 or higher, meaning everyday marks and spills can be cleaned off without damaging the finish.

    Construction and performance
    The chipboard core is faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, designed for dry interior use. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. It can be cut, drilled and edge banded using standard woodworking equipment. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    1. Q Can this panel be used for a headboard, given the fabric-like appearance?
      A

      Yes, it works well there. The woven look reads convincingly at a normal viewing distance, though it remains a rigid panel rather than a genuinely soft surface.
    2. Q Does the terra brown tone fade or shift colour under sunlight over time?
      A

      Egger Decorative Boards are tested under EN 438-2 for resistance to colour change, so the terra brown decor should retain its colour well under normal indoor conditions. The finish is suitable for everyday use in living spaces, although it is best not to leave it in strong direct sunlight for long periods, as with any decorative surface.
    3. Q Is it worth keeping offcuts for smaller pieces, like drawer fronts or shelf edges?
      A

      Yes, it's worth doing. Egger notes that slight colour deviations between production batches are possible with any decorative panel, so offcuts from the same sheet or order will match more closely than a separately ordered piece.
    4. Q If I cut this panel down, do I need to finish the exposed edges?
      A

      Yes, it's worth it. A raw cut edge will show the chipboard core, so finishing it with matching F424 ST10 edging tape keeps the look and the moisture protection consistent with the rest of the panel.
