9mm Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) sheets come with varying dimensions and physical properties, offering manufacturers an opportunity to design different end products depending on their specific needs.

MDF 9mm is a composite sheet material product usually engineered from cellulosic fibres combined with synthetic resin and strongly bonded under high temperature and pressure.

Besides, to impart more features to the MDF sheets, more additives may be added during manufacturing. The end product is typically smooth, flat, dense, uniform, and free of knots sheets with beautiful grain patterns. The 9mm MDF board’s consistent profile allows for convoluted and accurate machining and finishing methods for polished MDF 9mm panel.

9mm MDF 2440mm x 1220mm is mostly made for internal use, and any contact with water can cause significant damage to the MDF sheets, i.e., swell or warp. It is, therefore, recommended for non-structural use in dry conditions.

Here are some key applications of 9mm MDF boards:

  • Wall panelling;
  • Furniture;
  • Window boards;
  • Toys;
  • Shopfitting;
  • Toys;
  • Exhibition displays;
  • Public buildings;

Delivery costs are calculated based on the value of the order and delivery address. You will only ever pay one delivery charge and it will always be the lowest possible to deliver your selection of materials. The total cost of your delivery will be confirmed when you proceed to check-out and enter your delivery information. The larger the order, the smaller the delivery fee until it gets totally FREE. Generally, every £100 added to the order value will reduce your delivery fee by £12.

If your delivery address is outside of our standard delivery area, please click on the “save and share cart” button at the bottom of the check-out and complete your order details. Your cart will be emailed to our sales team and they will be in touch shortly with the total cost of your order and estimated delivery date after review of your order.

Within the standard delivery area which is colour coded in green on the map above, we operate a fleet of heavy goods vehicles and vans, therefore road access and weight limits need to be considered. Unless we are advised of access restrictions, we will send any sized vehicle available to us, including articulated lorries.

Please let us know at the time of order about restricted access by entering the relevant information in the ‘Special Instructions’ box provided at the check-out. We consider restricted access to be if our drivers encounter double yellow lines, a red route, narrow lanes, steep hills, low bridges, or width restricted roads.

Outside of our standard delivery area, haulage firms that we work with operate only a fleet of 26-tonne lorries and articulated lorries, therefore deliveries to sites with width-restricted access and narrow lanes will not be possible.

If we are unable to make a delivery because access is not possible, we reserve the right to make a failed delivery charge.

We aim to complete our orders within 2-3 workings days from the date of the order unless the customer requests a day outside that window. Once the order has been placed, contact by phone will be made within 24 hours of the order being processed on our system by the delivery coordinator to book a delivery date with the customer. Delivery times will not be given, only AM or PM slot will be advised. This will then be confirmed by whichever transport service is used to complete your delivery. Bank holidays and weekends will affect your delivery lead time as our service runs on working days only. This will always be reflected in your estimated delivery date.

All delivery times stated are approximate and are subject to availability. Usually, our deliveries are completed between 7 am – 5 pm.

Outside of our standard delivery area, orders are usually delivered within 5 working days from the date of the order. Transport company calls at least 24 hours before the delivery will be done to ensure someone is on site to accept the goods.

We advise that customers wait for their goods to be delivered before arranging work to be undertaken. Sheet Materials Wholesale may not be held liable for any failure to deliver by any stated time or date or any consequential loss resulting from late delivery.

Our delivery service is to kerbside only throughout the UK. This means that the driver will park as close to your delivery location as possible, and then you will be responsible to unload your goods from the vehicle. Forklift or adequate manual labour is required to unload the order. If delivery destination is within our standard delivery area (coloured in green on the map above), truck-mounted forklift delivery may get offered for deliveries exceeding 1 pack or 1-tonne orders (depending on the access and truck availability) at no extra cost.

Outside of our standard delivery area, the customer must have the ability or willingness to manually offload the goods or having mechanical offloading facilities available (such as a forklift truck).

Any shortages in quantity or missing items must be written on the drivers delivery notes and reported to Building Materials Wholesale within 24 hours of delivery. No claims for shortages or missing items will be accepted if driver’s delivery notes are not signed for as short.

Do not accept damaged products. Instead, any damages must be clearly written on the driver’s delivery notes and the damages must be reported to Building Materials Wholesale. If possible, take a picture of the damaged boards and refuse delivery of the damaged products. No claims for damages will be accepted if delivery notes are not signed for as damaged.

As soon as the order has been delivered to your requested delivery address, the risk of any damage or loss passes to you.

Deliveries are made on working days only. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are classed as working days with the exception of bank holidays. All orders placed on Saturday and Sunday will be processed on Monday. Our order processing cut off time is 12 pm.  If the order is placed on Monday at 2 pm for 2-3 working days delivery, the order most likely will arrive on Wednesday or Thursday the same week.
