Shinnoki Veneered MDF

Some materials sell themselves the moment you touch them. Shinnoki Veneered MDF is one of those panels. Real wood veneer, factory lacquered to a soft-touch matt, no sanding, no staining. Just fit it and move on. Eighteen colours in stock. Consistent panel to panel. One less thing to get wrong on site. Less stress when the deadline is already too tight.

What is Shinnoki veneered MDF?

Shinnoki Veneered MDF is a premium prefinished veneered panel designed for interior joinery and furniture applications. The core is MDF. The surface uses real wood veneer, not a printed decorative finish. Each panel arrives already brushed, stained and lacquered at the factory. There is no additional finishing required before installation.

That changes the workflow quite a bit on real projects. Shinnoki panels remove most of the finishing stage completely. For many joinery companies and fit out contractors, that means less labour on site, less drying time, less dust and a far more predictable final appearance.

The range is manufactured in Belgium by Decospan as part of the Shinnoki collection. Panels are available in multiple wood tones and finishes, from lighter contemporary interiors to darker architectural styles with more visible grain and texture.

Panels are supplied in:

  • 19mm thickness
  • 2790 x 1240mm sheet size
  • MDF core construction
  • Crown cut or natural veneer patterns, depending on decor
  • Soft touch matt lacquered finish

Panels are A/B grade. The face is clean and consistent. The reverse may show a more varied grain pattern but carries the same Shinnoki look and feel. The surface uses six layers of UV cured acrylate urethane lacquer. In practice, that gives the panel a more controlled low sheen finish with better resistance to micro scratches and everyday handling compared to unfinished veneer.

One detail many buyers overlook is consistency between sheets. Natural veneer always contains variation because it is real wood. Shinnoki uses Decospan’s mixmatch veneer technique, where veneers from different logs are selected and balanced to create a more uniform appearance across larger installations.

Without that control, panel to panel variation can become much more noticeable across wide surfaces.

Another practical advantage is that Shinnoki is designed as a complete finishing system. Matching melamine edging tape is important for exposed edges after cutting and machining, while wood repair pens and lacquer touch-up products help repair small marks, joints or installation damage without leaving obvious colour differences. On larger joinery projects especially, these matching accessories help keep the final installation looking consistent instead of pieced together from slightly different tones and finishes.

How does Shinoki MDF compare?

  • Standard veneered MDF usually arrives unfinished. The veneer still needs protection and finishing after machining and installation.
  • Shinnoki MDF arrives ready finished from factory level. The sanding, staining and lacquering process has already been completed under controlled production conditions.

What is Shinnoki veneered MDF used for?

One of the most common uses is fitted furniture. Kitchen cabinetry, wardrobes, media walls and built in storage systems all benefit from the cleaner factory finished appearance. Installers can cut, edge and assemble the panels without needing a separate finishing stage afterwards.

Wall panelling is another major application. Large veneered surfaces often expose colour differences between panels very quickly. The controlled finish and veneer balancing used in Shinnoki panels help installations feel more continuous across full walls, alcoves and commercial feature areas.

In commercial interiors, the material is regularly specified for:

  • Hotel furniture.
  • Reception counters.
  • Office cabinetry.
  • Retail displays.
  • Meeting rooms.
  • Showroom interiors.
  • Hospitality fit outs.

For joinery workshops, one of the biggest advantages is workflow efficiency. A project that would normally involve multiple finishing stages can move from CNC machining to assembly much faster because the decorative surface is already complete.

The panels are designed mainly for dry interior environments. They are suitable for vertical and general interior applications, but are not recommended for direct water exposure, shower areas or heavy duty worktop use unless a moisture resistant carrier system is specifically specified.

Who typically uses this material?

  • Joinery manufacturers.
  • Interior fit out companies.
  • Furniture makers.
  • Architects and designers.
  • Shopfitting companies.
  • Hotel and hospitality projects.
  • Premium residential renovations.
  • Homeowners creating bespoke fitted interiors.

Why choose our shinnoki veneered MDF?

At Sheet Materials Wholesale, we supply Shinnoki veneered MDF for projects where finish quality matters just as much as the board itself. That includes residential interiors, commercial fit outs, furniture manufacturing and architectural joinery, where consistency across multiple panels becomes critical.

The range includes multiple Shinnoki decors and wood tones, allowing designers and installers to match different project styles without moving into fully bespoke veneering costs.

We also understand that buyers are not always choosing between colours alone. Often they are deciding between workflow speeds, finish consistency and how much labour will still be needed after delivery. That is where prefinished veneered MDF panels can make a genuine difference.

We also supply matching accessories, including edging tapes and touch up systems to help complete installations properly rather than leaving installers to improvise final details on site.

At Sheet Materials Wholesale, we keep Shinnoki Veneered MDF available for both smaller interior projects and larger commercial fit outs. Trade pricing, volume discounts and fast UK delivery options are available across the range, helping workshops, contractors and designers keep projects moving without long material delays.

At Sheet Materials Wholesale, you can purchase Shinnoki Veneered MDF at low wholesale prices with fast nationwide delivery for most of items within 1-3 working days across the UK. Next-day delivery is also available on most orders. Competitive rates guaranteed.
