  • Description

18mm Egger U502 ST9 Misty Blue Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Blue Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and Surface
Misty Blue reads as an intense blue, but never a loud one. It works as a genuine accent colour rather than a background neutral, bringing a fresh, light quality into a room. ST9 Smoothtouch Matt adds a soft, modern feel across the surface. It also handles everyday marks and spills well, staying easy to keep looking clean.

    Construction and Performance
This 18mm panel has a non-structural core, faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, and finished with a square cut edge that’s ready for banding. It cuts and edge-bands cleanly for made-to-measure work. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    Where to Use It
18mm Egger board U502 ST9 Misty Blue MFC suits a range of interior fit out work:

    • Kitchen cabinet fronts as a fresh accent colour.
    • Fitted wardrobe doors in a calm, contemporary bedroom scheme.
    • Office desking and partitions for a fresh, calming finish.
    • Open shelving where a fresh, calming tone matters.
    • Built-in wardrobe interiors finished to match the visible fronts.

A colour matched U502 ST9 ABS edging tape is available for this decor, supplied unglued in 0.8mm and 2mm thicknesses for use with hot melt edgebanding machines.

    1. Q How does Misty Blue compare to Denim Blue, another blue in this range?
      A

Misty Blue is a shade darker and more intense than Denim Blue, which reads as a softer, more muted grey-blue by comparison. Both are designed to work with woodgrains, but Misty Blue leans toward being a deliberate accent colour rather than a background neutral.

    2. Q Can several blue decors from this range be used together in the same room?
      A

Yes. Several blue decors from the same range can be used together in one space without needing to match a single blue throughout, adding freshness and depth to the palette.

    3. Q Does this panel need any different handling on site compared to a lighter decor?
      A

No. It cuts, drills and edges the same way as any other Egger MFC panel, and the matching edging tape covers the cut edge cleanly.

    4. Q Is this panel suitable for a bathroom cabinet, kept away from direct water?
      A

It's built for dry interior use only, with no moisture rating, so even kept away from direct water, a bathroom cabinet sits outside what this panel is designed for.

    5. Q Can offcuts from a full sheet be used for smaller pieces, like drawer fronts?
      A

Yes. The colour and finish are consistent across the whole sheet, so offcuts work just as well for smaller components as a full panel does for larger ones.
