  • Description

18mm Egger U540 ST9 Denim Blue Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Blue Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and Surface
Denim Blue is a grey-blue with a very muted character, never loud or saturated. It pairs naturally with modern woodgrains that carry some grey in them. Set against white or light timber, it reads cooler and airier. It also works well in a fully blue-grey scheme, layered tone on tone. ST9 Smoothtouch Matt adds a soft, natural feel across the surface. It also handles everyday marks and spills well, staying easy to keep looking clean.

    Construction and Performance
This 18mm panel is built on a non-structural core, faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, and finished with a square cut edge ready for banding. It takes further cutting and edge banding well for bespoke work. The formaldehyde level meets E05, and fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    Where to Use It
18mm Egger board U540 ST9 Denim Blue MFC suits a range of interior fit out work:

    • Kitchen cabinet fronts paired with grey-toned oak worktops.
    • Fitted wardrobe doors in a calm, Scandinavian bedroom scheme.
    • Office desking and partitions for a cool, modern finish.
    • Open shelving set against white or pale timber walls.
    • Built-in wardrobe interiors finished to match the visible fronts.

A colour matched U540 ST9 ABS edging tape is available for this decor, supplied unglued in 0.8mm and 2mm thicknesses for use with hot melt edgebanding machines.

  • Questions and answers of the customers

There are no questions yet. Be the first to ask a question about this product.

Send me a notification for each new answer.
    1. Q Can offcuts from a full sheet be used for smaller pieces, like drawer fronts or open shelving?
      A

Yes. The colour and finish are consistent across the whole sheet, so offcuts work just as well for smaller components as a full panel does for larger ones.

    2. Q Is this panel suitable for a home office desk, not just cabinets and wardrobes?
      A

It suits the visible sides and frame of a desk well. A dedicated work surface that sees constant use, spills or heavy objects is better suited to a purpose-made worktop material.

    3. Q Does this panel need a different type of blade when cutting on a table saw versus a track saw?
      A

No specific blade type is required either way. A sharp, fine-tooth blade suited to melamine-faced boards works well on both types of saw, giving a clean edge without chipping the surface.

    4. Q Can several sheets be joined for a long run of cabinetry without a visible colour difference between them?
      A

Ordering all the panels for one project together, ideally from the same batch, gives the closest match, since slight variation between separate production runs is normal for any decorative panel.
