18mm Egger U638 ST9 Sage Green Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Green Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.
Colour and surface
Sage Green is a warmer, greyish variant within Egger’s green palette, calm and muted rather than sharp or saturated. Set against woodgrains in medium to dark brown tones, it reads as natural and elegant, the kind of pairing that feels considered rather than forced. ST9 Smoothtouch Matt gives the surface a modern, even feel with no shine at all. Tested to EN 14323, the surface holds a stain resistance rating of 3 or higher, so everyday marks and spills wipe away without damaging the finish.
Construction and performance
The chipboard core is faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, finished with a square cut edge ready for banding. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. The panel can be cut, drilled and machined using suitable woodworking equipment, with exposed edges finished using matching U638 ST9 ABS edging. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.
