19mm Egger U999 TM28 Black Lacquered Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in Germany by Egger, finished in the PerfectSense Feelwood Nature Matt lacquer range, part of the Black Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.
Colour and Surface
U999 in TM28 takes true black and gives it a distinct wood character. The synchronised Feelwood texture can be felt to the touch, so the panel looks and feels authentic. A matt lacquer sits over a melamine base on the visible face. Together, the dark tone and the grain create a depth that a flat colour alone wouldn’t have. Fingerprints leave little trace, thanks to the anti-fingerprint properties Egger builds into its PerfectSense Matt lacquer range. The lacquered surface is also tested for antibacterial activity to ISO 22196 (JIS Z 2801).
Construction and Performance
Melamine forms the base facing on both sides of this chipboard core, with the PerfectSense lacquer bonded on top of the visible face as the finished surface. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level sits at E05. The panel can be cut, drilled and machined using suitable woodworking equipment, with exposed edges finished using matching U999 TM28 ABS edging. This 19mm panel has a non-structural core with a square cut edge, ready for banding. It is intended for dry interior applications. Use it for vertical furniture surfaces. It should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.
