    1. Q Why pick the 8x2 size over a full 8x4 sheet?
      A

      Four reasons usually. First, fit, because 606mm wide goes through doorways and up staircases that 1220mm cannot. Second, the weight, 10kg, is roughly half what a full 8x4 weighs, so one person can manage the installation. Third, project match, because for wainscoting, dado panelling and narrow zones, the 8x2 size is closer to what you actually need without cutting down a larger sheet. Fourth, the tongue and groove long edges give you a mechanically locking join that the wider sheets do not have.
    2. Q Can I use this for wainscoting, fitted horizontally on the wall?
      A

      Yes, this is one of its best uses. Run the 2440mm length horizontally at dado height (around 900mm to 1200mm from the floor), and the grooves sit parallel to the floor like traditional panelling. Finish the top edge with a chair rail or moulding, and the bottom with a skirting. The 606mm height gives you a dado panel close to the classic Victorian proportion without any width cutting. The T&G long edges mean that as you run sheets along the wall, each one locks into the next, which keeps the whole horizontal band tight and aligned without relying on glue or pins to hold the joint shut.
    3. Q Are the edges primed like the face?
      A

      No, only the face is primed. The four cut edges of the sheet are unprimed, which is standard for this size. If an edge will be visible after install (top, bottom or end of a wainscot run, for example), seal it with MDF sealer or diluted PVA before applying your topcoat. That stops the edge from absorbing paint differently and keeps the finished look uniform.
    4. Q Will the grooves line up if I butt two 8x2 sheets end to end for a longer run?
      A

      The tongue and groove edges sit only on the long 2440mm sides, not on the short 606mm ends. So sheets joined end to end along the short sides will show a small visible butt join rather than a continuous groove pattern. For runs longer than 2440mm, plan to fall behind a feature, in a corner, or under a vertical timber detail that will hide the seam. The T&G long edges, on the other hand, give you a seamless interlocked join along the full 2440mm length.
    5. Q Is the narrow width strong enough for a bath panel?
      A

      At 606mm wide and 9mm thick, yes, for a standard bath panel. Standard UK baths are around 510 to 560mm high, so the 606mm width gives a small overlap that trims neatly to fit. For a freestanding bath plinth or any panel under sustained load, fix the sheet onto a timber frame rather than relying on adhesive to plasterboard, which gives the panel proper backing.
    6. Q How many 8x2 sheets do I need for wainscoting a 4m x 3m room?ย 
      A

      The total wall perimeter is 14 metres. Each 8x2 sheet covers 2440mm horizontally, so 14m รท 2.44m equals 5.7 sheets, round up to 6 to allow for cuts at corners and around doors. Some installers add an extra sheet for safety, particularly if there are multiple internal corners or door openings to work around.
