Hello, I am thinking of 25mm Marine Ply for my garden workshop floor - do you think this is a good choice? I intend to lay Celotex underneath. Would you recommend any membrane between the Celotex and the ply please? Also, how would you treat the ply after laying?

You can certainly have this ply installed for your workshop, all I will say is to seal the face and edges before laying it down to prevent moisture getting in to the ply. We recommend you consult with local builders merchants regarding the installation and the right product to use.

Yes, the board will be suitable to use, however, don't forget to treat the board first prior to installation.

A I would advise putting a membrane between them as it would reduce the chance of the ply getting moisture into it. But for more accurate information, I would advise you to check with a builder.
  6. Hi, would a marine ply with BS 1088 be a suitable material to use as a replacement barge boards on my house. The present boards are softwood and require renovation or replacing.

  1. Peter Greenway (verified owner)

    Good quality plywood.

Very good quality marine plywood. Worth the cost. A couple of sheets did have very small scratches and minor dents looked to have been caused by ratchet straps used without protection. Otherwise very good.
