  • Description

18mm Egger F237 ST76 Cupria Slate Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Anthracite Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and Surface
Cupria Slate carries copper running through its dark base tone, a detail that sets it apart from cooler slate reproductions. That warmth doesn’t cost it any depth. It still reads as genuine stone rather than a flat colour. The copper undertone pairs naturally with bronze, copper or reddish wood finishes, materials that would otherwise clash against a flat black slate. Touch the surface and ST76 Mineral Rough Matt stays true to real stone, coarse and uneven rather than smoothed over.

    Construction and Performance
This non-structural chipboard core is faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, finished with a square cut edge ready for banding. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. The panel can be cut, drilled and machined using suitable woodworking equipment, with exposed edges finished using matching F237 ST76 ABS edging. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    Where to Use It
18mm Egger board F237 ST76 Cupria Slate MFC suits a wide range of interior fit-out work:

    • Feature walls paired with copper or brass fittings and lighting
    • Kitchen island fronts alongside reddish or warm-toned wood worktops
    • Office desking and partition panels with a warm metallic palette
    • Shelving units finished to match copper or bronze hardware

Cupria Slate is also stocked as a matching ABS edging tape, unglued and supplied in 0.8mm and 2mm thicknesses for hot melt edgebanding machines.

    1. Q What makes Cupria Slate different from a standard black slate decor?
      A

Most slate reproductions lean cold, staying close to a true black or dark grey. Cupria Slate carries a genuine copper warmth through its base tone instead, giving it a richer, more inviting character while keeping the same stone-like texture and depth.

    2. Q Does the rough ST76 texture wear down or smooth out with regular handling over time?
      A

Not under normal use. The texture is pressed into the board during manufacture rather than sprayed or coated on top, so day-to-day handling and cleaning won't flatten it out. Years down the line, it should still feel much the same.

    3. Q Does the rough texture make cutting or edging more difficult than a flat panel?
      A

Not really. Standard saws and edgebanding tools handle it the same way they'd handle a flat panel, and the matching edging tape sits cleanly over the cut regardless of the surface texture. No special equipment needed.

    4. Q Can a groove or rebate be routed into this panel for a sliding door track?
      A

Yes, it routes cleanly with standard woodworking equipment. A sharp cutter helps avoid chipping the surface along the routed edge.

    5. Q Does this panel need to acclimatise in the room before it's fixed permanently?
      A

It's good practice to let it sit in the room for a day or so beforehand, letting it settle to the local temperature and humidity, especially in a newly plastered or recently heated space.
