  • Description

18mm Egger U125 ST9 Sand Yellow Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Beige Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and Surface
Sand Yellow carries a genuine yellow undertone, muted just enough by a trace of grey that it reads warm and characterful rather than bold or bright. That restraint is what makes it versatile, working as a main colour on its own without dominating a room. ST9 Smoothtouch Matt keeps that character grounded with a velvety, non-reflective surface. Tested to EN 14323, the surface holds a stain resistance rating of 3 or higher, so everyday marks in a busy kitchen don’t become a lasting problem.

    Construction and Performance
This 18mm chipboard core is faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, finished with a square cut edge ready for banding. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    Where to Use It
18mm Egger board U125 ST9 Sand Yellow MFC suits a range of interior fit-out work:

    • Kitchen cabinet fronts for a soft pop of colour
    • Children’s bedroom or playroom furniture wanting warmth without brightness
    • Office storage and shelving for a calm, characterful workspace
    • Fitted wardrobe doors in a warm, considered bedroom scheme
    • Built-in wardrobe interiors finished to match the visible fronts
    • Feature wall panelling for a subtle accent wall

A colour matched ABS edging tape is available for this decor, supplied unglued in 0.8mm and 2mm thicknesses for use with hot melt edgebanding machines.

There are no questions yet. Be the first to ask a question about this product.

Send me a notification for each new answer.
    1. Q Does Sand Yellow read as a genuine colour, or does it look more like an off-white?
      A

It reads as a genuine, if muted, yellow rather than an off-white. The grey undertone softens it, but there's still enough colour present that it registers clearly as yellow rather than blending into a neutral palette.

    2. Q Is Sand Yellow a good choice for a children's room, or does the colour skew too mature?
      A

It works either way, since the muted tone avoids reading as a strictly childish bright yellow while still bringing genuine warmth and colour into the space, so it can suit a child's room now and still look considered as the room's use changes over time.

    3. Q Does the ST9 surface feel different from a completely smooth, glossy panel?
      A

Yes, noticeably. It has a velvety matt feel rather than a slick, reflective surface, which is part of why it reads as characterful rather than flat or plasticky.

    4. Q Can this panel be used for open shelving in a kitchen, not just closed cabinets?
      A

Yes, it works well for both. The consistent colour and finish across the sheet mean open shelves and closed cabinet fronts match seamlessly if used together in the same kitchen.

    5. Q Can this panel be cut into narrow strips, like for shelving edges, without the colour looking uneven?
      A

Yes. The colour runs consistently across the full decorative face, so narrow cut strips show the same tone as a full panel, without patchiness or colour drift.
