  • Description

18mm Egger U250 ST9 Caramel Beige Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in the UK by Egger, part of the Beige Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and Surface
Caramel Beige sits a shade deeper and creamier than a standard beige, close enough to feel related but with more warmth behind it. That extra depth is what makes it work so well in a tone-on-tone scheme, layered against other neutrals of a similar family. It also holds its own as a deliberate accent, whether set beside warm-toned woods or as a softening contrast against black surfaces, carrying a touch of Mediterranean lightness into the room either way. ST9 Smoothtouch Matt reinforces that creamy character, feeling genuinely velvety to the touch. Tested to EN 14323, the surface holds a stain resistance rating of 3 or higher, so everyday marks aren’t a worry.

    Construction and Performance
The chipboard core is faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, finished with a square cut edge that takes banding cleanly. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    Where to Use It
18mm Egger board U250 ST9 Caramel Beige MFC suits a range of interior fit-out work:

    • Kitchen cabinet fronts in a tone-on-tone beige scheme
    • Fitted wardrobe doors as a warm contrast against black surfaces
    • Office furniture and storage for an elegant, understated finish
    • Open shelving in a warm, natural scheme
    • Built-in wardrobe interiors finished to match the visible fronts
    • Feature wall panelling bringing warmth into a neutral scheme

A colour matched ABS edging tape is available for this decor, supplied unglued in 0.8mm and 2mm thicknesses for use with hot melt edgebanding machines.

  • Questions and answers of the customers

There are no questions yet. Be the first to ask a question about this product.

Send me a notification for each new answer.
    1. Q Can a groove or rebate be routed into this panel for a sliding door track?
      A

Yes, it routes cleanly with standard woodworking equipment. A sharp cutter helps avoid chipping the melamine facing along the routed edge.

    2. Q Does a run of wall-mounted units need extra support brackets, or do standard fixings work?
      A

Standard wall brackets work, provided they're rated for the combined weight of the panel and anything stored inside, which depends more on the wall type and fixing method than the panel itself.

    3. Q Can this panel be CNC machined for shaped or curved cabinet components?
      A

Straight cuts and standard machining are what it's designed for. Curved or heavily shaped components risk chipping the melamine facing at the cut edge, so a material designed for that kind of shaping usually gives a cleaner result.

    4. Q Does this decor need to be sealed or treated before use, or is it ready straight out of the box?
      A

It's ready to use as supplied. The melamine facing is fully cured during manufacture, so there's no sealing, oiling or additional treatment needed before fitting.

    5. Q Does this panel need pilot holes before fitting hinges, or can they go straight in?
      A

Pilot holes are worth drilling first, the same as with any chipboard panel. Driving a hinge screw straight in without one raises the risk of the board splitting, especially near an edge or corner.
