  • Description

19mm Egger U590 TM Deep Blue Lacquered Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in Germany by Egger, finished in the PerfectSense Matt lacquer range, part of the Blue Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and surface
Deep Blue is a rich, saturated shade, full and confident rather than muted. The PerfectSense lacquer sits over the whole surface and keeps reflections down, so that saturation reads clearly under normal room lighting instead of washing out under glare. Handling marks and fingerprints stay largely invisible here, the lacquer built specifically to resist them.

    Construction and performance
Melamine forms the base facing on both sides of this 19mm chipboard core, with the PerfectSense matt lacquer bonded on top of the visible face as the finished surface. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. This TM lacquer is rated for vertical applications or horizontal surfaces with low stress only, such as light shelving, rather than for heavily used horizontal surfaces like worktops or desking. The square cut edge takes banding cleanly, and the panel can be cut to size for bespoke work. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    Where to use it
19mm Egger board U590 TM Deep Blue Lacquered MFC suits a range of interior fit-out work:

    • Kitchen cabinet fronts in a bold, saturated colour scheme.
    • Walk-in wardrobe doors that get handled constantly.
    • TV and media wall fronts in a contemporary living room.
    • Home office storage wanting a confident splash of colour.
    • Light shelving units where a soft, low-sheen finish stands out.
    • Feature wall panelling in a bold, statement scheme.

A colour matched U590 TM ABS edging tape is available for this decor, supplied unglued in 1mm thickness for hot melt edgebanding machines.

  • Questions and answers of the customers

There are no questions yet. Be the first to ask a question about this product.

Send me a notification for each new answer.
    1. Q Does the panel need pilot holes before fitting hinges or shelf pins?
      A

Yes, worth doing every time. Driving a screw straight into the chipboard core without one raises the risk of splitting, particularly near an edge or corner, same as with any Egger MFC panel.

    2. Q Can this panel be routed for cable access holes in a media wall or desk unit?
      A

Yes, a standard router or hole saw handles it fine. Use a sharp bit and keep the panel well supported, since chipping shows up more clearly on a dark lacquered surface than a light one.

    3. Q Would this decor suit a utility room or boot room, given the constant contact from coats and bags?
      A

It holds up well there. The lacquer resists fingerprints and light handling marks, which is exactly the kind of everyday contact a utility space sees, though it's still worth keeping the panel clear of standing water given it isn't moisture rated.

    4. Q Can this be mixed with a lighter blue from the same TM range in one kitchen without looking mismatched?
      A

Yes, that combination works well. Pairing a deep, saturated shade with a lighter blue from the same lacquer range gives a layered look, since both share the same matt finish and lacquer character.
