19mm Egger U604 TM Reed Green Lacquered Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm is manufactured in Germany by Egger, finished in the PerfectSense Matt lacquer range, part of the Green Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.
Colour and surface
Reed Green carries a cool, greyish character, restrained rather than saturated. Under the PerfectSense lacquer, that character comes through with real depth, the matt finish giving the surface a natural, velvety-matt look and feel rather than the flatter finish of standard melamine. Light sits differently across it too, absorbed rather than thrown back, which is part of what makes the lacquer read as considered and premium rather than just practical. Fingerprints leave little trace here, the anti-fingerprint properties built into the lacquer doing genuine work to keep everyday handling from showing.
Construction and performance
Melamine forms the base facing on both sides of this 19mm chipboard core, with the PerfectSense matt lacquer bonded on top of the visible face as the finished surface. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. This TM lacquer is rated for vertical applications or horizontal surfaces with low stress only, such as light shelving, rather than for heavily used horizontal surfaces like worktops or desking. The square cut edge takes banding cleanly, and the panel can be cut to size for bespoke work. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.
