  • Description

18mm Egger F037 ST76 Taormina Travertine Melamine Faced Chipboard 2800 x 2070mm  is manufactured in the UK by Egger and is part of the Beige Unicolours range within Egger’s wider Uni Colours collection.

    Colour and Surface
Taormina Travertine reproduces the linear, veined look of real travertine stone in warm, neutral tones. The ST76 Mineral Rough Matt finish adds a genuinely mottled, gently rough texture to the touch, the kind that gives real stone its sense of weight and robustness. Tested to EN 14323, the surface holds a stain resistance rating of 3 or higher, meaning everyday marks lift away without settling into the texture.

    Construction and Performance
The chipboard core is faced on both sides with resin-impregnated decorative paper pressed into a durable melamine surface, finished with a square cut edge ready for banding. Fire behaviour is classified D-s2,d0 under EN 13501-1, and the formaldehyde level meets E05. You can cut, drill, and edge-band it using standard woodworking equipment. It is intended for dry interior applications. It can be used for kitchen cabinets and furniture, but should not be installed where the board or exposed edges will be subject to persistent moisture, standing water or direct wetting.

    Where to Use It
18mm Egger board F037 ST76 Taormina Travertine MFC suits a range of interior fit out work:

    • Kitchen cabinet fronts with a linear, stone-inspired look
    • Feature wall panelling for a natural material backdrop
    • Office desking and partition panels with a natural material look
    • Fitted wardrobe doors in contemporary or classic bedroom schemes
    • Shelving units where texture reads well at a distance
    • Utility room cabinet fronts and boot room storage

A colour matched ABS edging tape is available for this decor, supplied unglued in 0.8mm and 2mm thicknesses for use with hot melt edgebanding machines.

  • Questions and answers of the customers

There are no questions yet. Be the first to ask a question about this product.

Send me a notification for each new answer.
    1. Q How does a travertine-look decor compare to real travertine tile in terms of maintenance?
      A

Considerably less demanding. Natural travertine is porous and typically needs sealing and periodic resealing to resist staining, while this panel's melamine surface is sealed at manufacture and needs nothing beyond a normal wipe-down.

    2. Q How should I clean this textured travertine-look surface day to day?
      A

A soft cloth or sponge, lightly dampened with warm water, handles most everyday marks and dust. Wipe along the texture rather than across it. Avoid abrasive scouring pads, steel wool, polishes, waxes or any cleaner with strong acids, as these can damage the surface over time.

    3. Q Is the surface pattern identical on every sheet, or does it vary as real stone would?
      A

There's some natural variation between production batches, similar to how real stone varies from slab to slab, though it's more consistent than genuine travertine since it's manufactured to a controlled decor image.

    4. Q Does Taormina Travertine work well in a room with limited natural light, or does it need brighter conditions to look its best?
      A

It holds up well in both. The warm, neutral tones and mottled texture give it visual depth even under artificial lighting, so it doesn't rely on strong daylight the way some flatter, paler decors do.

    5. Q Does this panel need any special support when used for open shelving, given the added weight some stone-look finishes carry?
      A

No more than any other 18mm chipboard panel. The stone-look surface doesn't add meaningful weight, so standard shelf brackets or supports sized for a chipboard panel of this thickness are sufficient.
